A Journey To The Echo Dunes

A Journey To The Echo Dunes

We've all heard of the singing dunes or the ethereal sounds made by the desert sand, which are sometimes described as singing or musical instruments. Inspired by this, we've created a mix that will instantly transport you to a peaceful place. Most of the tracks contain exotic instruments that we don't often hear and will remind you of seldom crowded places.

Why not make a cocktail to go with the Mix? We suggest this slightly different Mojito. Most mojito recipes ask for soda water, but we use Indian tonic water to elevate the lime and mint flavours.

Mojito ... with an attitude

A Journey To The Echo Dunes

When we host dinner parties or summer barbecues, the mojito is always a crowd-pleaser. Everyone wants at least one. The challenge is to find a way to give your guests an interesting and unique mojito.

Well, we've created a twist on the classic recipe that's sure to impress. The secret is to use Indian tonic water instead of regular soda water. The quinine in the tonic water brings out the zesty notes of the lime and adds a depth of flavour that's truly remarkable.

We did a quick Google search to see if there were any other recipes that used Indian tonic in mojitos. We found a  strawberry mojito that uses tonic water, so let's say our's is unique.

We also recommend using a highball glass. When you serve mojitos in tall glasses, they tend to become diluted before you can finish them. It's better to have two smaller mojitos that you can fully enjoy than one big, watery one.

Last but not least, we deviate from traditional mojito recipes by muddling the rum, sugar, lime and mint together. The sugar will bruise the lime and mint and infuse the rum, giving the mojito even more flavour than usual.

Ingredients (for one)

How to do it

  1. Put the lime, mint, sugar and rum into a cocktail shaker and muddle them.

  2. Add the ice and give it a shake and pour the mix into a glass and top with tonic water.

  3. Garnish and enjoy!
