Making a traditional Tiramisu can be tricky, especially if you're new to the recipe or short on time. We've simplified the process while adding layers of flavour and texture, thanks to the indulgent notes of Bailey's liqueur and the richness of dark chocolate.
Ingredients
250g mascarpone cheese
40g sugar
1 tsp vanilla essence
1 packet sponge fingersÂ
250ml strong coffee
50ml Baileys Irish Cream
50g dark chocolate (finely grated)
Method
Step 1
Line a 7cm deep 25cm x 10cm rectangular baking tin with paper.
Step 2
Whisk together the double cream, sugar, and vanilla essence in a large bowl until stiff peaks form.
Step 3
Mix together the mascarpone cheese and whipped cream until smooth.
Step 4
Pour the coffee and Baileys into a shallow dish.
Step 5
Dip the sponge fingers into the coffee mixture and layer them in the bottom of the baking dish. Spread a layer of the cream mixture over the sponge fingers, then sprinkle the chocolate over the cream. Repeat the layers of sponge fingers, mascarpone cream, and chocolate until all ingredients have been used.
Step 6
Cover the tiramisu and refrigerate. A minimum of four hours to let flavours develop.
